We work with key partners such as DWP, internal and external
training providers and from our voluntary sector to meet the employment and training needs of
the
Borough whilst identifying skills gaps of the future
“The hub is a fantastic resource in the area, offering a friendly and welcoming
atmosphere. We support the hub regularly, offering one to one and group support to create and
update
your CV, working collaboratively to support customers applying
for jobs, preparing for interviews and making career choices. We promote and attend Job Fairs,
Apprenticeship events, Sector events to ensure customers receive impartial careers advice” -
Joanne Stephenson, Careers Advisor
"As part of the collaborative effort between Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council's
Learning and Skills Service and their Employment and Training Hub, it's always a pleasure to be
working
with the ever-professional staff at the Hub and, in the
case of "Work Ready Wednesday", with the National Careers Service, on such a ground-breaking
project.
Being part of this trio of services is incredibly rewarding, with the ultimate goal of giving
clients a
comprehensive range of services
tailored to their needs. Our goal is to make sure every visitor leaves with a polished CV,
printed
and
digital. Together, the team offers valuable job application help and personalized guidance to
boost
applicants' chances of success.
Seeing first-hand the positive impact we can make on people's lives is what drives us to offer
expert
advice and guidance, helping clients identify opportunities that match their skills and
ambitions.
Additionally, we signpost people to
funded training courses, including those run by SBC's Learning & Skills department.
Together,
we've
empowered people with the tools and knowledge they need to succeed. For the last two years, I've
watched
the Employment and Training
Hub move from temporary locations to its current location in Wellington Square. Stockton Borough
Council
have created a purpose-built professional training venue designed around people and their
training
and
growth needs. I love that individuals
can come in and start to discover their true potential on a journey of personal and professional
development. Overall, the Hub is a great place to work because of the knowledgeable staff who
create
an
environment that inspires learning,
collaboration and success (the coffee is awesome too)." - Martin Ker, Learner
Advisor

“The Stockton-on-Tees Employment and Training Hub is a shining example on how
to
engage and upskill the wider community. They have thought of everything and have the love and
passion to
make it work. Our partnership has been seamless, fitting
in with Fallon and her Team to offer employment opportunities in Stockton and beyond.” -
Glen Hughes, Design and Marketing Manager Orangebox
The Employment Hub are a fantastic addition to Wellington Square. Fallon, Sophie and Michael have embraced our culture and are an integral part of our community. In the 12 months they have been open, they have hit the ground running in the
local community getting people back to and into employment.
We have worked with the Employment Hub on many initiatives, from talking to local schools and young adults about their future careers to employing somebody from their course and we look forward to working together again soon.
"The workspace in the hub is second-to-none and a great alternative to a classroom, the high-end
technology installed makes it easier for clients and customers to learn new skills - the
atmosphere
sets
it apart from other recruiting centres in the local
area." - Matt Boxall,
Centre Manager at Wellington Square
“The team were first introduced to Stockton Hub in September 2022, since then
we
have
created an excellent working relationship, working collaboratively to promote short provision
and
support unemployed candidates and those looking for a career change, back into employment. The
Hub
is
situated in a central location and the interior is modern and spacious with good facilities,
creating a
relaxed working environment. We look forward to continuing our working relationship with The Hub
and
delivering further programmes in the future.” - Kelly Skeet – Adult Skills
Manager,
Education Training Collective
“We have been working in partnership with the employability hub to deliver our
Taxi
and Private Hire training programme to support local residents into a sustainable and rewarding
career. The hub is a state of the art facility with every care and attention taken to provide a
supportive and welcoming environment for all. The team at the hub are a pleasure to work
alongside
with nothing being too much trouble to ensure that ours and their customers come first.”
